E3 2009 is Here!
Yup, the E3 Expo 2009 is here, I thought I would post my updates for Sons of Myneria here as well. Lots of new features have been added to the game, some people wanted to see and some you never would of expected.

For our female gamers out there I am proud to announce there will now be a playable female hero for you to choose. With all the classes and effects as the original, you will also gain different dialog and responses from the many people around the world. You can find this and more on the updated characters page.

One of the biggest additions to come in the game is a true dynamic day and night system. Watch the sun go from morning to night in a truly realistic lighting system. The world will also revolve around this with different enemies to fight at different times of the day and schedules for npcs where they will sleep, eat and work at specific times, the most realistic experience to ever come to a 2D RPG.

If you think that wasn't enough, I am happy to announce an entirely new never before done season system. Watch as the years go by in spring, summer, fall and winter with changing landscapes, creatures and a full weather system ranging from light rain to heavy snow. One of the most anticipated features in any RPG finally done in Sons of Myneria.

Along with those massively exciting features you will also get a full growing system where you can find seeds from shops, monsters or just plain exploring and plant them in a garden and watch them grow. What you get will vary from herbs that heal to ones that increase stats permanently. These items are designed to help at any level keeping you collecting and growing all through your adventure. What seeds and where you plant them in the world will effect what types of herbs you will get.

Along with the standard magic system comes a new rage system just for melee classes. Instead of being stuck with weak spells you will gain rage abilities with each weapon that will focus more on your combat stats and provide crushing blows to your enemies when you need it the most.

One of the most exciting small details of the game is fully working chests. Anywhere you find loot you can not only take items but store them as well where they will stay until you open the chest again. This will be most useful for storing items at your home keeping them safe and organizing your inventory, another realistic feature brought to a 2D game.

Several other features have been added as well, such as a full shop tax and haggle system. Every store in the world will have different prices depending on the location or whats going on. You might be able to talk the shopkeepers into giving you a better price, making buying and selling a better deal.

All your actions in the world will effect your character, the choices you make will lead you on the path to good and evil, or will define how confident or brave you are. These stats will effect how people will like you and choices you make towards them will also effect how much a person likes you.

Stepping up to todays generation I have added a fully working achievement system. Now you will get points for completing important events in the game or hard to complete objectives. Not satisfied? These points will actually be used for gaining rewards and items in the game. Online support for this may be in the works but is still far away from being ready, for now you will keep the points to your save file and save them for that special little item you may want to obtain.

There will also be a fully working house system where you can not only buy but even build houses in any town. Add your own decorations and details and turn it into your lair for you and your party to hang out. You can upgrade it adding more decorations and features such as fully working chests to store your items.

Finally I present a problem solver. Nobody likes being stuck with low level characters then being forced to use them later on, thats why in Sons of Myneria I will do my best to make sure you are always with the team you want. Members that are not in your party will also level on their own, gaining a percentage of the experience you do so they will not be as weak when you need them to join you. Members that you travel with though will gain faster experience and become stronger then members that are not in your party.

Well I hope you enjoy hearing about all the wonderful new changes coming to the game, and I hope you enjoy this years E3 show and check out all the new upcoming games from the many awesome developers. I hear it will be one of the best shows in the last 10 years as they finally made all the right changes to add more floor space and let more people in. Good luck and have fun.

Closed Testing Begins                                                             Sorry there have been no updates recently, I been making a lot of progress but I am also in process of moving to a new house so I may not be around for a wile as I have a lot of work to do here at home.

I will be giving a copy of the game to ZVC's Team of Advisors for testing wile im away. They will go through it and test it and make suggestions for changes to make it better. Already lots of discussion has been going on and I don't want to reveal much yet but the game will be much better then all the information currently shown here on the site.

Thanks to everyone who has participated in this project and everyone who has written me suggestions. From this point on story and mapping will be a top priority and already lots have been done to improve it beyond its previous state. I'm sure this game will be a smash hit made possible by you the fans. Everyone will get their much deserved credits by the time the first demo is out.

I'll be back soon and just in case I don’t make it in time, happy holidays :D

Completed
The Sons of Myneria site is now complete. Every page is up with loads of information towards the game. You can now see lots of info towards characters, status effects and much more. Some pages like the items and bosses are still yet to be filled in so hang in there as the game continues to develop.

I would also like to take this time to announce some details into the upcoming demo. It will indeed feature a big part of the story and is expected to include a few hours of game play out of the hundreds planned for the final game. As a bonus for completing the demo, players will gain an extra package of summons, spells and even party members to keep them busy till the final game is ready. These features will be exclusively for the demo.

I am also happy to reveal an update for the story, it will feature the journey of two tales you will alternate back and forth from. The first story is about Tobia who stumbled into Calmer Village and the other will be about the epic quest for Meridian’s conquest to vanquish evil. Eventually the two parties will meet and you will be able to combined their powers. The reason I chose this style of game play is to keep it open for everyone. Tobia’s story is slow paced and revolves around his training to rediscover his past, wile Meridian’s story is much faster and more modern for players who like to be part of a more important aspect of the world.

Well now that the site is completed and updated, I am off to continue development of the game. I hope you enjoy this new website and look forward to the final product.

Oh, and happy halloween to all who are celebrating, the reason I’ve chosen the monster icon for this update :)
